About
Nathalie Cahn loves objects with a history. A chair that dates from the 1950s, a lamp found at a gallerist’s, a painting picked up at a flea market: for her, an interior without a history is only a set.
French, of Brazilian origin, she grew up with the warmth of Brazilian modernism, then fell for that of California and for the expressive generosity of Italy. Her eye owes much to cinema: La Piscine, César et Rosalie, those interiors where people really live.
Before drawing, she observes: the period, the region, the light, the way one will want to have morning coffee there. Then she composes, with gallerists and antique dealers as creative partners, places that seem to have always been there.
